The interior of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, seen from the third floor parking level. This is a great view, made of four photos stitched horizontally with Arcsoft Panorama3 software. Unfortunately the camera metered differently as it travelled, and my hands tilted ever so slightly, resulting in some blurring and misalignment. This is why the experts suggest using a tripod and taking the camera off auto-meter when shooting panoramas. I'd love to go back and redo this!

The Byers Evans House Museum
On Saturday 14 April, Denver celebrated an "Open Doors" festival by offering free admission to many historical buildings in the downtown area. I arrived at the Byers Evans House a bit too late, however -- their doors closed at 4pm. The house was built in 1883 by Rocky Mountain News publisher William Byers at 1310 Bannock Street, and offers a fascinating window on pioneer living. Colorado Rapids' New Stadium: Billboard
This grungy billboard on Colfax Avenue advertises Dick's Sporting Goods Park, the new home of the Colorado Rapids soccer team. This photo was taken on April 7, the date of their first game in the new arena. Promotional tarps showing star soccer players have been hanging on the 16th Street Mall for more than a month.
Many Denverites just love the Rapids, and they are fanatically devoted to watching every game. They are not so certain if they love the new stadium, however. It's been given mixed reviews.
Dick's Sporting Goods Arena: Proper Perspective
The new home of the Colorado Rapids soccer team is way the hell out in Commerce City. Shown here from the highway, it can be seen in its proper perspective: a huge development surrounded by dirt. My friend Mitchell thinks it's cool that they kept the name "Commerce City" -- because it's honest and American. It certainly is a truck driver's paradise. This photo was actually taken as we left the first game at half-time. It was way too cold -- snowing in fact -- and the new stadium is wide open to the prairie wind.
