On Saturday 14 April, Denver celebrated an "Open Doors" festival by offering free admission to many historical buildings in the downtown area. I arrived at the Byers Evans House a bit too late, however -- their doors closed at 4pm. The house was built in 1883 by Rocky Mountain News publisher William Byers at 1310 Bannock Street, and offers a fascinating window on pioneer living.
