Where Have All the Flounders Gone?
On hot August nights, dozens of little girls used to mob Sierra Boggess here at the stage door of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, 14th and Champa. Sierra, a local actress, held the stage quite well as the love-lorn Ariel in Disney's new hit play, The Little Mermaid -- she received standing ovations night after night, for more than 40 performances. On September 9, despite a few fishy reviews from snobbish critics, the show moved on to Broadway, where it will undoubtedly delight many children this Christmas season. Mermaid officially opens December 3. Good luck, Sierra! Come back and visit when you can.
