Denver Art Museum: Gloomy View of the Complex
Gloomy skies darken the intersection of 13th and Bannock, seen here from the Sculpture Deck of the Denver Art Museum on the rainy Saturday afternoon of 5 May. A glum refugee carrying balloons from the Cinco de Mayo fest may be seen in the crosswalk opposite a Spanish-style building which is, ironically, a British pub.

Denver Art Museum: Sculpture Deck 1

A clear example of the strange angularity of the Hamilton Building, a recent addition to the Denver Art Museum designed by architect Daniel Liebeskind. This is the "Sculpture Deck" on Level 3. For more on the controversy surrounding Liebeskind's "cutting edge" design, see www.denverartmuseum.org

Under grey sky and raindrops, Denver's annual Cinco de Mayo festival (background) sent Latino music bouncing eerily off the walls of the public library (right). In the foreground one may find a few clues as to why the Sculpture Deck is called the Sculpture Deck.
